Hemel Hempstead Town FC has made two new signings – but this time off the pitch.
Sir Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, becomes President and Kerry Underwood, Chairman of shirt sponsors Underwoods Solicitors, becomes Vice Chairman.
Sir Mike Penning said:
“I love all sport and I have always helped the Tudors whenever I can, so to be asked to be President of the club is a great honour to be part of its future.”
“Like Sir Mike, I love football and love Hemel Hempstead. Although a Londoner by birth, this has been my home for 30 years now.
“I am delighted and honoured by this appointment and will do all I can to help the off-pitch development of the club to keep up with what Dean, Stuart and the lads are achieving on the pitch.”
Chairman Dave Boggins added:
“This club has been my life for a long time and now we have a real chance of promotion to the National Conference. Sir Mike Penning and Kerry Underwood do a great deal for this football club and I am very pleased that they have both joined us in an official capacity – and they were free signings!
“Onwards and upwards!”
Jon Wedger is about to embark on a walk from London to Manchester to raise funds and awareness.
