Send my Friend to School

8th June 2018

Sir Mike Penning joined students from Longdean School when they met with International Development Secretary, Penny Mordaunt MP, to hand a petition in support of the Send my Friend to School Campaign to make schools safe around the world.

Mike, who organised the meeting between the students and Secretary of State, said:
“It is great that students from Longdean are campaigning on this important issue. We take education for granted in this country, but in so many places in the world it is a very different situation.

“There are many reasons why it is not safe in some countries and I congratulate the students for raising awareness and campaigning for global leaders to ensure all schools are safe and peaceful places to learn.”
