Mike Penning, calls for the Flag of St George to be flown from public buildings in England on St George’s Day.

Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning, has called for the flag of St George to be flown from public buildings to mark St George’s Day on 23rd April.

“You can bet your life that the national flags of the other countries in the UK are flown from public buildings on their national days, so why are we so reticent to do likewise in England?” he asked.

“I am proud to be English and proud that in Dacorum the flag of St George will be flying over the Civic Centre this Sunday,” he added.

Mike Penning has also supported an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons calling for St George’s Day to be an annual public holiday in England.
