Hemel Hempstead MP, Sir Mike Penning, has lodged a formal complaint against Chief Executive of the West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust Christine Allen.

The complaint arises from comments made in the Trust’s briefing document entitled “Bringing new hospital facilities to west Hertfordshire” which has been published as part of the Trust’s public engagement on its proposals.

Sir Mike said:

“In this document, the Trust is playing down the role of Royal Free London Property Services Ltd (RFLPS) in the assessment of greenfield sites. I can only assume this is to try to hide the relationship between this company and West Herts Hospitals’ partner Trust the Royal Free Trust.”

He added:

“The Trust is also giving the misleading impression that new sites were sought, when in actual fact the RFLPS review only looked at previously rejected sites.”

“The Trust is making decisions that will impact all our lives – and those of future generations – they absolutely must give us accurate information and be completely open and transparent.”
