Penning joins London Demonstration.

“I was proud to have been asked to join the former Dexion workers at their demonstration in London on Saturday morning.

I am deeply saddened and angry for workers who have worked hard, and done the decent thing and saved in a pension for their retirement, only to have their future stolen from them. The Government have a moral, ethical and almost certainly a legal responsibility to help these decent people because it was the Labour Governments legislation that raided pension funds and allowed companies to remove most of the pension reserves.

I have worked with the leadership of the Conservatives to seek compensation for all the workers that lost their pension rights and I will never give up this fight to get compensation and to get the law changed to protect all workers in company pension schemes.”
