Mike Penning congratulates Cllr Catherine Appleby on her appointment as Mayor and pays tribute to the work over the past year by outgoing Mayor, Cllr Jane Hogg.

Local MP, Mike Penning, congratulates Cllr Catherine Appleby who is one of Dacorum’s longest serving Councillors, on her appointment as Mayor of Dacorum.

“I am delighted Catherine has been appointed, she has spent many years serving the people of Hemel Hempstead Central ward and Dacorum as a whole. I wish her all the best for the year ahead.”

He also paid tribute to Cllr Jane Hogg, the outgoing Mayor:

“I attended many functions with Jane this past year and she has worked tirelessly supporting local clubs and charities during her year. She served as Mayor through a period that saw many local residents facing difficulties as a result of the Buncefield explosion. Through the work of her recovery fund – which she set up to assist those who’s homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged by the explosion – she has helped many residents in their time of need. She has earned a much-needed rest and she can look back on a highly successful year as Mayor.”
