3 February 2006
Mike Penning has put forward a motion in the House of Commons supporting the Members of Parliament and their staff who are taking part in a three-legged race for charity.

By taking part in this race, the MPs are recognising the valuable work of the two charities – Whizz-kids and Childhood First.

Mike said:
“All too often we at Westminster can be seen to be distant from the real lives of our constituents. Taking part in such charity events is an excellent way for us to show our support for the more vulnerable and needy within the communities that we represent.”

“I commend the work of these two charities and acknowledge the important difference these charities make to the lives of children with disabilities and those in need of therapeutic residential care.”
