Mike Penning MP visits the Salvation Army and calls for tough action against anyone selling alcohol to underage youths.

Mike Penning met with Captains Michael and Jackie Bainbridge at The Salvation Hall on Friday, 17th February where they explained the work undertaken by the Salvation Army during the Buncefield fire.

After the visit, Mike said:
“I want to thank them all enormously for the work their volunteers did after the Buncefield fire. They opened up their hall to evacuees before the official evacuation centre was up and running at Jarman Park.

They also discussed the work done by the Salvation Army with the homeless and young people, particularly the consequences of underage alcohol abuse.

Mike said:
“We discussed our mutual concerns about alcohol abuse by young people and I assured them I would help in any way that I can to highlight this issue and I encourage local authorities to come down hard on anyone who sells alcohol to underage youths in Hemel.“
