On Friday 18th November, Mike Penning presented computers to five local schools on behalf of the Tesco “Computers for Schools” scheme.

Schools benefiting from the gifts were: South Hill Primary, Saint Roses RC Infant School, Aycliffe Drive JMI, Leverstock Green Primary and Busy Bee Day Nursery.

As Mike handed over the computers to representatives of some of the schools, he said “It is good see larger retailers such as Tesco putting some of their profits back into the community. What better way of investing in a community than in the education of our children.”

The presentation took place at the Tesco Store in Jarman’s Park and children from South Hill, Saint Roses and Aycliffe Drive were on hand to receive the gifts. Mike Penning added “It is a pleasure to meet such well-behaved and courteous children."
